I was a novice runner when I first joined Ian's training group at RAF Sealand but Ian always had time for everyone, offering words of encouragement and motivation (usually as he sped past!). Ian set the standards, the sessions and quite rightly, was the 'main man' although he would never talk about his own racing successes - which we grew to learn were impressive. We all benefitted tremendously from Ian's enthusiasm and experience, he was a great runner but an even greater man. Thanks Ian.

Ian properly introduced me to running 29yrs ago at Sealand & the pleasure I still get from running & the many friends I have made over the years can always track back to him.
Friend, mentor & ferocious competitor.

Fond memories of all the running we did together back in the day. He was instrumental in our successes, an inspirational coach and incredibly kind human. Sending all my love.
