Daniel PhilipCLOSE(Gosforth) - Died peacefully after a short illness on Wednesday 24th December 2025 aged 68 years with his loving wife Jen by his side. Wonderful son of Norman and the late Elsie. Loving dad to Michael and step sons Tony and Paul. Dear father-in-law to Laura and Lindsey Devoted grandad to Elsie, Rosie, Adam, Harry, Lucy, Freddie and great grandson Archie.

Please meet for the service at West Road Crematorium on Wednesday 14th January at 1:30pm

No flowers by request. Donations can be made in support of the Marie Curie Hospice, Elswick.

After the service all family and friends are welcome to Gosforth Empire Club, Salters Road, NE3 1DX

Our last port of call before returning home!
Danny Close was truly one of a kind and will never be forgotten. My heart goes out to all at this difficult time. May the memories of his bright spirit and infectious smile bring comfort and peace.
The send-off was an incredible experience witnessed by many family & friends
