George RobertCLARKof Billington and formerly of Oswaldtwistle passed away peacefully at the age of 79, on Wednesday, January 14 at Royal Blackburn Hospital after a short illness. The loving husband of Eileen, father of Paul, father-in-law of Jane, grandad to Nathan and Euan, brother to Sue, stepfather to Lee and step grandad to Lucas and Emily. Also a dear cousin and a good friend to many.
Most of George's working life was spent as an engineering production manager, a job that he took great pride in. After retiring from his engineering career, George worked part time as a Steward at Blackburn Rovers Training Centre & Academy. This was a role that he thoroughly enjoyed and where he made friends with staff, players and parents alike.
George enjoyed travelling and had many happy holidays with Eileen visiting Spain, Greece, Australia and South Africa to name a few. In his younger years George was a keen and talented sportsman and in later life he loved nothing more than watching his son and grandsons play football and cricket.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 10 at 1pm at Accrington Crematorium.
