Its a long time since we last met but I have very fond memories of Barry during the earlier days of my career at City General Hospital where I was fortunate to meet and work with Barry, I looked upon him as my 'work dad', always there to offer guidance and advice. Many happy times at work and socially as Barry introduced me to playing football for his beloved Kidsgrove Athletic FC and we became very good friends. Barry was a very treasured guest at the engagement and wedding to my wife Julie, some 45 years ago.

A true gentleman who devoted much of his life enhancing the lives of others through the sports he loved.

You will be sadly missed Barry.

Rest in Peace.
