Alan ChristopherBISHOPLoyally served in HM Royal Navy (31yrs) and later HM Coastguards (21 yrs)

Sadly, after a long battle with lung disease, he peacefully 'crossed the bar' on 22nd December 2025 at RCH Treliske (aged 79) with both his daughters present.

Beloved husband of Betty, known as Dad, Grandad, GG, Brother, Uncle and Friend to the lucky many who had the privilege to know him.

Funeral service to be held at Portchester Crematorium, Fareham, Hampshire on Friday 23rd January 2026 at 14:30 (no formal dress required).

Family flowers only, but donations if so desired for Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis & the British Heart Foundation details via

Solent Funeral Services, Lee-on-the-Solent, Hampshire. Tel: 02394 273267.

My sincere condolences to the family.

Both Alan and Betty were good friends to both Sean and I through the Royal Navy years and beyond. Always great company.

Sharing in your sadness as you remember Alan.
Leaves and flowers may wither, The golden sun may set, But the hearts that loved you dearly, Are the ones that won’t forget.
To live in the hearts of those we love is never to die. Alan’s life was a blessing, your memory a treasure.
