HarveyWYATTFormer Deputy Head of Woodlands School, passed away on 17 January aged 87. Harvey was married for 44 years to Ann, until she pre-deceased him in 2005. Father of Simon, Sally, Mandy and Kate, and Grandpa to Rhian, Beth, Rachel, Lizzie, Ruby, Abby and Maisie. Born in Shrewsbury, Harvey grew up in Portsmouth, attended Liverpool University to study Geography, and began teaching in east London. He and Ann moved to Coventry in 1964, and he worked at Woodlands until his retirement. He remained living in Eastern Green throughout the rest of his life, spending his final 2 years being looked after so well at Harper Fields care home in Balsall Common. Harvey was always a keen sportsman, playing football, cricket, table tennis and distance running, and supporting Portsmouth FC and Hampshire cricket. He also enjoyed hill-walking and had a lifelong love of the Lake District. One of his passions within his teaching was introducing pupils to sports and outdoor expeditions. After his retirement from teaching, he continued to work as a tutor for the Open University, and was an active member of St Andrews Church, Eastern Green.

A celebration of Harvey's life will be held at St Andrews at 12 noon on Thursday Feb 20th, following a short committal at Canley Crematorium at 11.15am. The service will be followed by a reception at Westwood Club, Westwood Heath Road, and the family would welcome all to join them for this.

Family flowers only.
