AlineTHOMPSONMrs Aline Thompson, of Gladstone Street, Bacup, died peacefully, on Friday, August 6, aged 85. Born in Rawtenstall, she lived her early life in Crawshawbooth at Pinner Cottage, although most of her life was spent in Bacup. She worked for many years at John Madens in Bacup. She loved spending time with family and enjoyed holidays and going abroad. She especially enjoyed visiting Australia where she has family. and went on cruises which took her as far as Brazil. She leaves loving husband Keith of 66 years, daughters Linda, Jacky and her husband John, Stephanie and her partner Stephen, Christine and son Craig and his partner Julie. She also leaves grandchildren Davine, Jay, Gemma, Mark and Robert, together with great-grandchildren Ellie Mae, Isaac, Jayden, Oscar and Arlo. She leaves brothers Bob and partner Ann, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, and cat Benny. A Requiem Mass will be held at 1.30pm on Tuesday, August 17, at St Mary’s, Bacup, followed by burial at Bacup Cemetery. Family flowers only please, however donations, if desired, suggested to Dementia UK. Funeral director: Paul Swarbrick for Knight & Boys Funeral Service, 300, Newchurch Road, Stacksteads.
