SidneyTHOMASJeffrey (1923 - 2015) Died at Bristol Royal Infirmary on Monday 20th April following a difficult illness and onset of Dementia. Dearly loved and devoted husband to Mary for 69 and a half years. Treasured father of Jane and Christopher, and a much loved grandpa and great-grandpa to 13. He was a school master and taught for 30 years at Withywood School, retiring in 1983 as headmaster. The Thanksgiving Service for his life will be held at All Saints Church Publow Lane, Pensford on Saturday 9th May at 2:00pm. We request no dark clothing at the service and family flowers only. I taught at Withwood School from 1959 to 68. I knew Syd very well, we worked together a lot especially over school play sets each year. He was a super teacher, had loads of energy and great sense of humour!
Our families were social friends. Jane and Chris were a joy.

I've never forgotten what a treasured teacher Mr Thomas was. I was at Withywood School from 1981.He really helped me try to understand Maths,he had so much patience. A great Headmaster too!Thank you Mr Thomas.You're fondly remembered, never forgotten xx
