MelvynSPRATTWith love and sadness, we announce that Melvyn Spratt passed away peacefully on the 31st August 2025, aged 81 years.
Devoted husband to Beryl, loved dad to Graeme and Craig, precious brother to Helen, wonderful granda to Ashleigh, Kyle, Thomas, Tilly, Tyne, great- grandad to Poppy, Ivar, Luke, Esme and Arthur.
Mel was a much-loved member of the community and a father figure to Consett Rugby Club. He was an inspiration to so many and will be greatly missed.
The family wishes to thank all the wonderful staff at The Care and Support Group, Dr Hashmi and the chemo team, Hampton Manor, MacMillan and the district nurses, you are all incredible.
Melvyn's funeral will take place on Thursday 25th September 2025 at Christ Church at 10am followed by the committal at Mountsett Crematorium at 11am.
