Aneurin Owen CharlesROBERTSIt is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Aneurin Owen Charles Roberts, who died peacefully in Swansea, Wales, on February 25, 2024, at the age of 89.

Born on July 9, 1934, in Pistyll, North Wales, to Captain William C. Roberts and Elizabeth Owen. In 1957, Aneurin married Joy Elizabeth Thomas, and together they raised two children, Dean and Leigh. Later in life, Aneurin moved to Swansea, where he married Sheila Falvey in 1988.

Aneurin is lovingly remembered by his children, Dean and Leigh; his grandchildren, Megan, Elinor, Rhiann, Lauren, and Ellis; his great-grandchildren, Reid, Mason, Dillon, and Isla; and his niece, Betsan, and her family. He is also fondly remembered by the many friends and family members who were touched by his warmth, humor, and indomitable spirit.

His ashes will be interred at Nefyn graveyard in June 2025. In honor of his memory, donations may be made to Nant Gwrtheyrn, the Welsh heritage centre that held a special place in his heart.

A life well-lived, a spirit deeply loved - Aneurin's legacy of courage, storytelling, and enduring love of Wales will continue to inspire all who knew him.

In memory of Dad — a proud son of North Wales, who carried the beauty of the Welsh language and culture in his heart throughout his life. May it help to support the Welsh language for future generations, just as he carried it with him wherever he went.
