JohnMITCHELLJohn 95yrs, Formerly of Cornmoor Road Whickham. Husband to the Late Pat. Died peacefully, on 7th September.
John was a well-known character in Whickham. The village beekeeper, local historian and naturalist, he has written several books of both subjects about Whickham. He was one of the oldest military veterans to attend every Armistice Parade in the village. The first when he was thirteen.
He will be sadly missed by family and friends.
Cremation ceremony at Mountsett, at 12.30pm on Friday 19th September, everyone welcome.
This will be followed by a gathering of family and friends in the Derwent Walk Inn, Ebchester.
