This photo was taken in 1975 Neil was the manager of Milton United , we won many trophies under him . I've known Neil for 60 years from being his pupil at Holden Lane to being his friend. Always looked up when I came to Stoke. A wonderful man.

Mr Gilson (Sir), when I was informed of his passing by Alex it hit me like a brick. Got many stories of my time at Holden Lane (92-97), tennis trips to Spain, Football, athletics and how he always looked after students who showed promise and respect. Enjoyed meeting up when he came to watch Alex at Burslem, still greeted him with Sir, was weird to hear him say “you can call me Neil”.
Will be sadly missed by all.

Rest easy Sir
