Our sympathy to Ann and all the family and friends of Tony on hearing the sad news. Sarah & I met Tony way back in Algeria in 1965 when we were all volunteers helping that country recover from the devastating war of independence against French rule. Tony was using his bricklaying skills with Service Civil International [SCI] to help build a new village. I first met him when I was lent from our different team [UNA], as mechanic, to repair their Comma truck which had veered onto a minefield, resulting in the Swiss volunteer driver losing his foot after stepping on a diabolical mine. We all carried vivid memories from that time and tried to keep in touch. Whenever I phoned Tony we always referred back to those days! Knowing Tony I'm sure he'd want to help in Gaza right now, that sums him up--always wanting to help. Our respect to his memory--Geof & Sarah Bailey xx.
