Sister Coates was the finest nurse I ever met. As a Student Nurse on Ward 5, SGH, in 1975, she was very strict but oh so kind. Her standards were extremely high and what I, and so many others, learned from her, stood us in good stead throughout our nursing careers. She will be remembered with affection by nurses and patients alike. RIP Sister.

Sister Coates was the ward sister on Ward 5 back in the 1970's, she was very strict, but was very caring too, I had some personal problems whilst on her ward during my pupil nurse training, she was so nice to me, and I never forgot her very caring touch.
