I always think of you as the new academic year begins, Graham and of everything you taught us.

You’re really missed during the summers too when I remember your film trips to London and the chats and meals we would share.

You just won’t ever be forgotten. You’re in every word of Primo Levi and in every curtain-up at the theatre. You’re there every time I laugh at troubles instead of giving in to them. I remember you cracking a joke or making light of your own hardships and it is a light against the darkness.

Weirdly, Adam and I are almost the age you were when you died now. It seems crazy. When did that happen? You’re not really dead to us though. We talk and think about you all the time.

Remember that quote from the Levi programme you showed us? I wrote it in my copy of ‘If This is a Man’ that day at Brooklands, and it’s still there:

‘When you lose a friend, when you lose a teacher, you feel like an orphan. I still miss him’.

We love you. Always.

Thinking of you as it turns to summer Graham. Another one you’ve missed. You’re being thought about though, everytime I read Primo Levi or laugh at myself or think of London in the summer. Thanks for all that you were and are! Mx

You were awesome Graham. And are not forgotten. Your classes were inspirational. Your conversations about literature and life literally opened up the world and your courage and sense of humour continue to impact me. You’re really missed. I was lucky to know you.
