MarieBARNESMiss Marie Barnes, of Abbeycroft Nursing Home, Crawshawbooth, formerly of South Street, Bacup, died peacefully on Saturday, August 21, aged 94. Requiem Mass will be held at St Mary’s and St Anselm’s RC Church, Bacup on Wednesday, September 1 at 11am, followed by interment in Bacup cemetery at 12.15pm, conducted by Father Chris McGrane. Born in Bacup where she lived all of her life, Marie was a lifelong active parishioner at St Mary’s RC, Bacup. She had worked at Hargreaves and Crowthers and other various footwear factories in Rossendale. Marie enjoyed holidays abroad in her younger days and visited the United States of America, Canada and Ireland. She also enjoyed church socials and attending the annual meal with her friends at the Rose and Bowl. She leaves many friends and her loving carers.
