Mary LilaTRAYNORPassed away peacefully at her home in Cardiff, aged 91 years on 2nd August 2025.
Loving wife of Brian, beloved mother of three children, Mary Jane, Frances and John Joseph. Cherished grandmother of Molly, Connie, Louisa and Stewart, and great grandmother of Olivia and Owen.
Mary dedicated herself to her family, to her drawings and paintings, particularly of Cardiff’s rich Victorian architecture.
As an active conservationist, she campaigned for the preservation of architecturally important buildings in Cardiff, including several in the Cardiff Bay area, and was secretary of the South Wales branch of The Victorian Society for many years.
A memorial service for all family and friends will be held on Wednesday 27 August at 3pm, at St Edwards Church, Westville Road, Cardiff. The service will be led by Rev Canon Stewart Lisk, Mary's friend and the Rev at St Edwards where she was a parishioner.
