We are so very sad at the loss of Paul - such an extraordinary and lovely man. We count ourselves very fortunate indeed to have known him and to have enjoyed his company, which was just the best.

I was very lucky to know Paul as the most dynamic Leader of the University Choral Society and later when he directed music for the Northcott. Rehearsals with Paul were such a joy. He combined and communicated deep knowledge of music with his own passionate and fun loving style. Performing with him in the cathedral was a rollercoaster and energy, a once in a lifetime experience! I also knew Paul as a St Thomas local and I enjoyed bumping into him regularly, catching up on his news and seeing him having a coffee with Steve. I was so sorry to hear of his illness, delighted when his health improved and very sad to hear that he had died. Memories of him will always be vivid though, and I am grateful for the warmth and fun he brought into every interaction we shared.
