I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Mick Lavelle.
He was my lecturer on my first ever course in horticulture at Writtle College in October 2002.
Mick was a thoroughly nice man and a brilliant tutor.
He was very well liked and respected by everybody who knew him at the college and beyond.
My family & I wish to pass on our deepest condolences to Mick's wife, Christine, who was also a brilliant tutor of other courses that I studied at the college during my time as a student there.
And to their son, Richard, and daughter Annie.
We are thinking of them all at this difficult time.
And to all those who worked with Mick at Writtle College throughout his time there as a lecturer.
Mick will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.
Mick and Christine have both played a big part in my life and my career in gardening and horticulture over the years, and I will be forever appreciative and eternally grateful for teaching me everything I have learned from them as a result.
The world has lost a truly decent man.
Thankyou Mick, and rest in peace.
