JosephHURLEYIt is with great sadness we announce the death of Joseph (Joe) Hurley of Roath, Cardiff, (formerly of Pendoylan St., Newtown, Cardiff).

Joe passed away peacefully aged 88, surrounded by loving family, on Monday 28th April 2025 at St David's Hospital, Cardiff.

Beloved and adored husband of the late Babs. Much loved Dad to Jayne, Robert, Gareth and a respected father-in-law to Paula & Pamela. Cherished Grampy Joe to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren Devoted son to the late Annie & Danny and treasured brother to Roddy, Mary, Pat, Betty, Eddie, Billy and Peter. A much loved brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, neighbour and friend. Joe will be very sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Family and friends are invited to meet for a Requiem Mass on Wednesday 18th June at 10.30am at St Albans Roman Catholic Church, Swinton St., Splott, Cardiff. CF24 2NT, followed by interment at Northern Cemetery, Thornhill Road, Cardiff CF14 9UA.

No flowers by family request. Donations in memory of Joe, if desired, can be made to The Alzheimer's Society at www.greenwillowfunerals.com.

My wonderful, funny, cheeky Dad.
The void your passing has left in me is indescribable, but to know you’re now at peace and reunited with Mum lifts my heavy heart.
I’ll miss you more than you'll ever know Dad.

Uncle Joe, I shall remember you for you wonderful love for life and your true gentlemanliness. You are one of those people who brought light to every room you were in; who left you feeling fuller and brighter after each visit, each conversation.
I shall remember forever the wonderful holidays we shared in my teenage years, especially your gentle response to having the expensive after-shave switched with olive oil! I shall remember more the special times you shared with mum and dad over so many years, and the value you and Aunty Babs brought to their lives.
Rest in peace, listen to Aunty Babs up there and keep that warm laugh ringing.
