ThomasGRIFFITHSPassed away peacefully on 2nd August 2025 in Greenways Court Care Home at the age of 99 years. Tom, loving husband of the late Bessie, was a cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend of many.
Born in Leadgate, over the century of his life he made a difference to the community in Consett and around; as a leader in the Boys Brigade; a football referee; a member of the Lions Club; a 'Meals on Wheels' volunteer; a lifelong member of the Methodist church; a Freemason; and a part of the Leadgate Gleeman, Annfield Plain Gleeman and the Consett Citizen's Choir among many other activities. He was always ready to lend a hand and his warm sense of humour will be very much missed.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life at a service at Consett Methodist Church on Friday 29th August 2025 at 11 am, and then on to Mountsett Crematorium.
No flowers please, donations to Consett Methodist Church and Children with Cancer UK. There will a collection at the funeral.
