JanetCOTTAMJanet died peacefully at home, aged 83.

She loved to travel and explore, so a frustrating blow when ill health curtailed further adventures but her marvellous sense of humour remained.

Years ago, she described the desire for a turquoise mausoleum to be built in her memory. Unconvinced she was joking, regrettably we didn't manage the mausoleum. Instead, we have umpteen shared memories to smile with, cherish and enjoy.

"We'll live in birds and flowers and dragonflies and pine trees and clouds and in those little specks of light you see floating in sunbeams" - to quote from Philip Pulman's Dark Materials, which she loved.

Live on and rest well. Raising a toast to Janet, with much love.
