I’m remembering the times we partied and laughted, good times… your children were your greatest achievement and they made you proud. Keep shining over them, fly high Neil, you are now at peace. Sending love to all the family xx

Neil was a man whose life was marked by both happiness and struggle. He was the father of my children, and for that, he will always be part of our family.

Although he battled demons that took him from us too soon. He was once more than this. He had a dry sense of humor that could have a room in hysterical laughter, and a heart that could give generously. He loved his children fiercely.

His passing is a complicated grief - one that mixes sadness and questions that may never be answered. But I choose to remember the man he was before his problems took hold. The father who held newborns in his arms, the man who helped give life to my children. The people I love most in the world.

May he finally be at peace.

Neil was a son, a father, a brother, a friend and an uncle. His presence, in all its complexity, left a mark on those around him. There were moments of joy, humour, and tenderness that will be remembered by those who saw the softer sides of him.

I am choosing to remember and honour Neil not just for the life he lived, but for the life he wanted to live. In remembering him, I choose to see the whole person — the bright sparks, the struggles, and the hope that he carried in his own way. May he now find the peace that so often eluded him in life.

With love and quiet respect,
for all of us who knew him, and held space for the parts of him that were trying to find their way home.
Rest in peace, Neil. You were loved.
