I remember when my Granda tried to teach me how to play the spoons or whistle like a bird, I couldn't, he still never failed to make me smile. I love him with my whole heart. Im so happy that so many people could come to the ceremony to celebrate Ken's life with me and my family. I remember visiting him in Alnwick hospital and he was able to hug me, grab my hand and not let it go, kiss my forehead and was able to say my sisters name, he even waved us goodbye which made me so happy I was jumping all the way home. I will always try to be as happy as you were. I love you Granda <3 xxx

As a grandchild of Ken Davidson, I will live with the memories of him forever. He deeply impacted my life and he always made me laugh when he would make bird noises or play the spoons, I remember when he tried to teach me these skills and I failed. He will always be my Granda Ken and I will miss him, a lot. I remember visiting him in Alnwick hospital, he had managed to hug me and didn’t let my hand go, he kissed my forehead and was even able to wave me and my sister goodbye. I’m so happy that so many people turned up to the ceremony, it shows you how many lives he impacted in his days. I love you so much Granda <333 xxxx

I met this lovely man a fair few times back in the 80s through wrestling. The first time we were at a competition in Brittany and Ken was very complimentary about my technique. After that I remember being in Rothbury, I think after the Alwinton Show and Ken taking me to some kind of plant competition where people were showing off giant vegetables! A year or two later when I won the 10 and a half stone championship, Ken was there and congratulated me so warmly that I thought he was even happier than me. I was reminiscing about wrestling this evening and wanted to show my wife a photo of Ken if I could find one, so to hear this sad news was a shock. I hadn't seen Ken in years, but I hadn't forgotten him and I never will. Thanks for the memories.
