Reverend Canon Alan John ColeCOLEDied peacefully at Symonds House Nursing Home, Linton, on Saturday 22nd March 2025, aged 89 years.
Much loved husband of Brenda, father of Elizabeth, Nicholas, Rebecca and Jonathan, grandad and great-grandad.
Alan's ministry included being Vicar-Chaplain at St Edward's King and Martyr, Cambridge, Chaplain at Arthur Rank Hospice and Rector of Gamlingay with Hatley St George and East Hatley. Alan was a Third Order Franciscan and followed the way of St Francis in his daily life.
Funeral service at St Mary's Parish Church, Linton on Tuesday 29th April at 11.00am, followed by refreshments in the Pavilion (Church Hall), then private interment.
Family flowers only please; donations may be left after the service or sent c/o H. J. Paintin Ltd, 43 High Street, Linton, Cambridge, CB21 4HS. Donations made payable to H. J. Paintin Ltd - Donation A/C. The beneficiaries will be St Mary's Church, Linton and The Society of Saint Francis (for charitable activities).
