Remember with pride

Remember with pride.
Remember with pride all that dad did,
The stories he told us, especially Brer Rabbit and the Tar baby, always told with such gusto.
Remember with pride the toys he made us, the rocking rabbit, the stilts, (we were the envy of all the other children) and the beautiful Swiss chalet music boxes.
Remember with pride dad in his uniform, so handsome, and on a Friday night bringing mum flowers or chocolate.
Remember with pride the way he showed us love, taught us respect, to always say please and thank you and to know when to say sorry, for showing us how to be the independent people we are today.
Remember with pride how he fought his last battle, with dignity, never complaining, always with a smile and a story.
Remember with pride all that and more.
Remember pride our dad George Thomas Rees
