DerekWHITELEGGIn memory of Derek Whitelegg, husband to his late wife Linda.
He sadly passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family, on January 19, aged 83.

He leaves behind his two brothers Roy and Brian,
two daughters Elaine and Diane and their husbands Sean and Norman. Grandchildren Rachel, Blair and Olivia and partner Craig, great grandchildren Noah, Beau and Bonnie.

He was a miner after leaving school for 35 years. Before retiring he was a security guard at Cormar Carpets. He was an active member of the Rossendale Lions. His hobbies included holidays, baking, diamond painting, dominoes, sunbathing and he was the number 1 fan of Only Fools and Horses.

His funeral is set to be held at Fred Hamers in Rawtenstall on February 6 at 10.30am, then over to Burnley Crematorium for 11.30am.

Afterwards a celebration of his life is to be held at the Rose n Bowl, Stacksteads.

Family flowers only, but grateful donations to Rossendale Hospice.

You were My rock you helped me when I got in a mudded when we took charters and when I took over the present from. you we kept friends when the lions closed down and we where still friends even till the end I will miss you coming out up for abru and talking to you on the phone and going down to you for chit chat over thing

Like my sister Diane said he loved going to hospice,mainly for the massages but he loved talking to people who are going through the same things,his face lit up when he showed me what he made, thank you for making his time enjoyable xx
