Lovely Mel we shall miss you. Whenever we met it was always the same greeting, outstretched arms, a loud holler and a big hug! I shall miss seeing you on the dancefloor, but you leave behind an indomitable spirit that will never leave us. Shine bright Mel! xx

Our dear friend Mel was a remarkable lady, and it’s hard to put into words just how deeply she touched our lives. We were lucky to have known her for 11 wonderful years — years filled with laughter, adventure, and memories that will stay with us forever. From overseas pub trips to day trips, the races, Frocester Cricket Club, Christmas meals, beer festivals and the charity balls we shared together, Mel brought joy, humour and a spark that made every moment brighter.

Over the last four years, Mel showed a strength and courage that inspired everyone around her. Faced with a rare and relentless cancer, she fought with everything she had. Even in the hardest moments, she carried herself with pride, warmth and her unforgettable smile. She made friends with NHS staff, touched countless hearts, and showed us all what true bravery looks like.

Mel adored her family above all else — her beloved son Tom, his partner Leanne, and her precious granddaughters Amelia and Aurora. They were her world, and the love she had for them shone in everything she did.

Losing Mel leaves a space that will never be filled, but we are grateful for every moment we shared with her. We will miss her deeply — her laughter, her kindness, her strength, and the way she made life better just by being in it.

Rest peacefully, Mel. You will always be in our hearts.

Knowing Mel has been a privilege and joy. I have never met such a brave lady, always positive and so brave. Mel has taught me such a lot over the past 4 years - we had tears but more laughs. I shall miss our times together - there were a lot of them. She was an inspiration to the medical staff too, always went to her appointments with a smile on her face and always wanted them to be honest with her. It was her mission to help everyone looking after her by just being lovely. Mel. Mel had such faith in her medical team and it was her wish to go to Sue Ryder not to burden her family and friends. Thoughtful to the end. Rest in peace my friend, you will never be forgotten - I will always love you. Elaine
