I was a patient of his and only met him maybe half a dozen times, but he left a lasting impression on me. A truly warm, caring and funny human being, as well as a professional at the top of his game. He always spoke to me with a smile and much kindness. A great and sad loss to all who knew him. Bless you Paul.

Dr Paul Southern. A brilliant top Doctor in his field, but also a kind caring charismatic and likeable fella. He always made me feel like I was his friend, and that my case was important to him - such was his professionalism. I liked him so much I wanted to attend his funeral to pay my respects, but sadly I was already committed to another. God Bless you Paul Southern. You cannot be replaced or forgotten.

In only found out yesterday (24/01/24) I always wondered why I had stopped seeing Dr Southern, what a great person and very caring man he was, always joking with me and my wife everytime we saw him, such a tragic loss to all. RIP Dr Southern, you are greatly missed.

Mike Ward. Paul saved my life at Scunthorpe hospital in February 2007, for which I will be forever grateful. He was such a lovely, personable guy, and a very knowledgeable and professional doctor. He was so kind to myself and my wife. We are so sad to hear that he has passed away. We will never forget him.

I spoke with Paul only once but it was unforgettable. That's the sort of impression Paul had with so many people. He was kind, truly interested in people, made deep connections and made you more optimistic in your day. I have the warmest thanks for the chance of meeting him.

Hi, i have only just been informed of the sudden passing of Dr Southern. He was my consultant for over 14yrs, always available even when on holiday with me being readmitted to BRI on at least two occasions when he was on a family holiday but still very professional by contacting the medical team to discuss my treatment. My sincere condolences to his family at this very sad time.
