Now the dust has settled and the funeral has taken place I feel the need to leave a tribute.
I have known Brian since we were kids together in Accrington aged about 9 years.
He was the best friend anybody could wish for, never critical, always supported and always on a level playing field. We have been on many holidays together with Dianne before she tragically died far far too early and on several battlefield tours and several to Cyprus.
I was also best man when he married Dianne.
I can say from my heart that he was the brother I never had and I will certainly miss him and his infectious laugh.
Watch your beloved Derby County from the best seat in the house.
RIP mate. Gran
