Roger FNEVILLEIt is with great sadness that I have to announce the unexpected passing of my Brother Roger. Predeceased by our Parents Peggy (Holmes) and Ray Neville and our Aunt Vera Holmes. Survived by his Sister Ann (Ivan) Bell (Neville) and niece Jenny (TJ) Hiebert of Vancouver, Canada. Wife Seliha and her daughter Anais of France. He had many friends from years of living and working Both in Canada and UK. Thank You to Susan and Paul Gibson for their support for our entire lives. He was born and died in Prestwich, Manchester having spent several years in Edmonton Canada, Withington and Europe. He was also a member of various amateur Orchestras in UK. His Violin was a very important part of his life as was his work. Your passion was your violin. I was so happy and proud to actually see you playing at Royal Albert Hall with one of your orchestras. I am grateful we had this last Christmas together. I miss our daily chats. You will be forever in my thoughts. Brother/friend to me. UNK to Jen. I wish you Eternal Peace, Ann. Requiem Mass to be held at Our Lady of Grace Church, Prestwich on Wednesday 15th June at 12.00noon followed by interment at St. Margaret's Churchyard at 1.15pm. It’s so quiet now.
There are no more phone calls/messages in the middle of the night. Because you forgot about time difference. I always answered incase it was urgent
I never wanted you to feel alone.
You were so greatly loved by myself and Jen. You have left a huge void in our lives.
I was looking forward to your plan of a trip here this summer. You were really excited about a golf game with a friend and being able to visit with all of your long time friends here. Funny how most of them are here in Vancouver area.
Forever grateful we got to see you this Christmas. Just like old times.
You were never in one place for long.
You moved all over for work. Sometimes UK, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands and your favorite Basel Switzerland.
Many, many years ago you took this Naïve sister to Greece on a backpacking trip. I can honestly say I never dreamt I would be sleeping on hotel roofs or on a beach in the Aegean. The wonders of Delphi and the Acropolis will never be forgotten. You even made me walk around Oxford where Dad lived. It was wonderful. Sometimes you did know better!!
You also gave lifetime memories to you Niece Jen. You two got on so well together.
Not only a holiday in Basel where you worked but a trip to Venice which will be forever remembered for the 300e lunch of a lifetime. Then off to Paris.
Finally there was your music. You loved Opera and classical music. Then you suddenly decided to start playing our Grandfathers violin. It must have run in the Family (It didn’t run this way!). Playing was a passion of yours.
You managed to play in several different Orchestras from Edinburgh to London. Your particular favorite was Stockport. I will think of you each time I hear Bruch’s violin concerto and remember when I arrived home in time to see you play at Royal Albert Hall (I still have my ticket).
I will forever be your Sister and am deeply sorry I cannot be there today .
In my heart forever. I wish it wasn’t so quiet now.

Roger was a special individual, as a friend he was warm, kind and very supportive. I will remember him for his sense of humour, his resourcefulness, his positive attitude and his fearlessness when tackling many life challenges. Roger was committed to all he undertook: his work, his music, his family and friends.
I found him both inspiring and encouraging. He will be missed.
Rest in Peace Roger, you were one of the very best.

I have known Roger for most of my life and was shocked and still am about his sudden passing. I am so glad I got to spend an evening with him at the Van Duessen Gardens and an exceptional dinner last Christmas reflecting on memories, and most importantly laughter. My heart goes out to you Anne and Family! May a smile come to you when you think of all the memories of Roger, the kind, talented and lovely soul that he was in this very difficult time.

I had the pleasure of knowing Roger over the past three years, whilst staying in my accommodation.
It was sad that he passed away so suddenly.
Having our chats in the garden, putting the world to rights, and discussing the birds in the garden communicating with each other.
He certainly was one of life's characters and I am pleased to have had the pleasure of meeting him.
Rest in Peace Roger.
You will always be remembered Bill Webster
