BarbaraMORRISONThe family sadly announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Barbara, Aged 59 on 14th March 2024.
Barbara was a beloved mum to Kelly and Ryan, a devoted, caring and much-loved nan to Kai and Courtney, a very dear sister to Cathy and David, a caring mother-in-law to Ben and a much loved, fun-loving auntie and treasured friend to many others.
She loved nothing more than helping others and her role as a Social Care Support Officer at Lancashire County Council was truly made for her as it involved helping the elderly and vulnerable on a daily basis. She also worked with a fantastic team of whom she spoke very highly of and who will miss her daily doses of optimism, sense of humour and support.
She was an extremely devoted nan to her two grandchildren Courtney and Kai. They were her pride and joy always her first priority. She would speak so proudly of them to whoever would listen, and she loved spoiling them, taking them out for tea, having brews and nan chats and just always being there for them whatever the situation.
Babs loved everything and anything connected to the outdoors. A good walk, a lovely view and just nature being nature. On a walk she would always be found at the back of the bunch because she'd have stopped to take in the view or to take a picture of something that caught her eye. 'Bloody Gawwwwgus' was her catchphrase!
She loved life and brought joy to so many people. She enjoyed laughing (very loudly!), singing, dancing, and good times with friends and family and was looking forward to celebrating her 60th birthday in July in Portugal with friends. It is in times like these that we will desperately miss her infectious laugh and 'booming' voice, but they will forever live on in our memories.
Our Babs will always be remembered for her long blonde locks, her infectious laugh and her loving, caring and thoughtful nature. Her words of wisdom and advice, big heart of gold and huge hugs will never be forgotten. Her passing has left a massive void of emptiness in everyone's heart, and she will be so terribly missed. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered and so it will be.
The funeral service will take place at Accrington Crematorium, on Friday 12th April at 3pm, followed by a celebration of Barbara's life at the Whitakers Arms, Burnley Road, Accrington where everyone is welcome to join the family.
