June CeciliaMCMYLERformerly of Accrington, passed away peacefully at Hatherleigh Nursing Home, on May 22, aged 83 years.
The devoted wife of the late Gerard, adored and loving mum of Shelley, loved mother-in-law of Lee, dear sister of the late John, sister-in-law of Brian, auntie of Richard and a respected relative and friend to many.
June began her working life at Warburton’s Textiles as a machinist before making the move to ROF, Blackburn, where she worked making ammunition. She moved back into sewing working at Karrimor International and finally took her retirement from Simon Jersey in 2002. Wherever she worked she was always well respected by her colleagues and made many good friends over the years.
Holidays were always a favourite time and throughout her life enjoyed visiting the USA, Europe (especially Malta) and Scandinavia especially on a cruise ship.
She enjoyed music and loved ballroom dancing. She trained as a dance teacher at Knowlmere St Dance School in Accrington and the Arcadian Ballroom in the 1960s where she met the love of her life Gerard who became her husband.
An avid gardener, June could spend many happy hours tending to her garden which she ensured bloomed in full colour throughout the year.
She moved to Devon in 2015 to be nearer her daughter and son-in-law where she enjoyed many years enjoying the coastline around Devon and Cornwall.
June will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Requiem Mass will be celebrated by Fr Seán O’Brien at St Mary’s RC Church, Oswaldtwistle, on Wednesday, June 11 at 10am. Followed by interment at Dill Hall Cemetery.
