Routledge-WilsonKARL DAVID FRANCISpeacefully passed away on Wednesday the 22nd of October 2025, aged 66.

Karl was the most exceptional man, a bright and beautiful soul, whose warmth, generosity, and spirit touched the lives of all who he encountered. His friends, his loved ones, his partner, and all who had the immense privilege of knowing him, will miss him dearly.

Karl will depart from The Pillar Box, 566 Mansfield Road, Sherwood, Nottingham, NG5 2FS at 11:45. Those who wish to accompany him on his final journey are warmly welcome.

A Requiem Mass in the Extraordinary Form will be offered for the repose of his Soul. It will take place at 12:00 on Wednesday the 17th of December 2025 at Church of the Good Shepherd, 3 Thackeray's Lane, Woodthorpe, Nottingham, NG5 4HT.

All are welcome to attend The Wake, in loving commemoration of Karl's life, at The Pillar Box after Mass. A private cremation service will follow.

Dress Code: Smart and Bright - just as Karl liked.

In accordance with Karl's wishes, no flowers please. Donations in Karl's memory are warmly welcome for Quarr Abbey, a place he deeply cherished and where he found peace.

Karl was my mate of many years. I first met him when i was 18 and we both rocked up to start our psych nurse training.
He was funny, kind and bit odd- I know he wouldn't mind my description.
We drank together, we laughed together and I tormented him at times but all with kindness and fondness.
