Maureen WynneHUGHESPeacefully on 25th February 2024 at Pantanas Care Centre, Treharris, Maureen of Aberfan Rd, Aberfan, passed into the waiting arms of her beloved parents Aealfryn and Winnifred. Devoted mother of Richard, Bryan and Stephanie. Grandmother of Bethan and Catrin. Sister of the late Bryan Hughes of Troedyrhiw. Mother in law of Suzanne and Victoria. Maureen was a lifelong campaigner for peace and social justice and her community, having served as a Labour councillor for Aberfan and Merthyr vale Ward. She was a writer and poet and a faithful member of The Religious Society Of Friends (Quakers). A kind and loving friend to many. Her funeral service will take place on Friday 22nd March 2024 Service and committal at Llwydcoed Crematorium at 2:15pm. Family flowers only by request please but donations if desired will be for Cancer Research Wales.
