ChristineHIGGINSMrs Christine Higgins, of Churchtown Crescent, Bacup, died suddenly at home on Saturday, February 12, aged 74. A service was held at the Chapel of Rest on Monday, February 28, followed by cremation at Burnley, conducted by Mr David Ireland. Christine was born in Bacup where she lived all of her life. In her younger days she worked as a cotton operative and also at City Leather, Hargreaves & Crowthers, and later as a care worker. She enjoyed holidays abroad, and looking around charity shops. But she mainly loved being surrounded by her loving family and grandchildren. She leaves her partner Colin, daughter Sharon and her husband John, daughter Joanne and her partner Lee, son Peter, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, sister Marilyn and her husband Brian, sister-inlaw Irene, nephews and many friends.
