Steve, his parents and sister Christine moved to Stalybridge on 15 February 1971 (decimal day).

On 4 June 1988 he married Karen Riley at Dukinfield register office, in total they enjoyed more than 40 happy years together bickering and laughing every day but rarely arguing.

So sad to have lost Steve, he was a quiet and very easy person to get on with, a very talented musician!
Everyone who has known Steve will miss him very much. Stay strong Karen as that is what he would have liked you to be at this difficult time.

Steve was such a lovely, kind, talented, generous, loving and gentle man. Sue and I value the all too short time we knew him and wish it could have been so much longer.
Steve and Karen were so obviously in love, they were inseparable in life and that love will never diminish with time.
We raise a glass and light a candle for him tonight.
Our deepest thoughts are with Karen today and always.
Chris and Sue.

I am privileged to have known Steve. He was kind, generous, talented and a true connoisseur of great music, cars and guitars. He was a fantastic musician and a master of anything he created. Anyone who saw his work knew it was up there with the very best. Like many others I’m sure, I am so grateful to have benefitted from his skills, guidance and wisdom, especially when my automotive ambitions far outweighed my talents ; )
I’ll always cherish the time spent with Steve and Kaz tinkering on cars and talking guitars, the best of times.
