ChrisGEORGEIt is with deep sadness that I am informing you of the death of Chris George,
who passed away at home on 3rd June following a struggle with PSP (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy),
a cruel neurological condition which he battled with for over three years.

He will be sadly missed and forever remembered by his wife, friends, family, carers and musicians alike.

Chris led a very full life as a teacher, headteacher and guitar builder and he has left an amazing legacy with the
beautiful guitars he made for friends and fellow musicians.

Chris' funeral will be private. Donations in Chris' memory will be for the benefit of both
St Barnabas Hospice and PSPA, and may made via his tribute page at https://chrisgeorge.muchloved.com/

Chris (Mr George to me) was my headteacher at Swineshead Primary School, Lincs in the early 90s. A brilliant, inspirational teacher who I have to thank for my love of guitar which has given me so much over 30 years of playing. I often speak of how he would play us into assembly- the coolest way to start the day. When I was 8 I joined his guitar club and he showed me Sultans of Swing by Dire Straits. It’s something I stuck with after leaving Swineshead Primary, visiting to play at his retirement party. Many years later I met him at an open mic night in Sleaford and seeing him enjoy my playing made immensely proud. An amazing man, who made a massive impact on my life. Sending my love and condolences to his friends and family. Thank you, Chris
