First met Pete Flannery way back in the 70's when we shared a few days together walking south on the Pennine way with two other friends of his, Lawrence and Frank. Rest in Peace.

Gentleman Mr Flannery, taught at my school. Reconnected recently, over 40 years later, in the singing group I attend with my mum. What a wonderful man, so very, very sad to hear of his passing.

My favourite teacher throughout all my years at school. A true gentleman, a man who gained my respect with his demeanour and nature. RIP Mr Flannery.

Mr Flannery taught me at St Aidans Middle School late seventies early eighties. He was a great teacher and a lovely bloke. He fostered my love of football and athletics and his encouragement and enthusiasm were and always will be greatly appreciated. He and Mr Gormley were a formidable team. Sending heartfelt condolences to Mr Flannerys family.
