Today we said goodbye to our special friend Jamie.
Among our group, he was the quiet one. Never the loudest voice in the room, never the one seeking attention, yet somehow always an essential part of the group. Jamie never followed the trend, always unique and whilst the rest of us charged through life with all the noise and chaos, he slotted in perfectly, bringing a calmness and balance that no one knew they needed.
He was the arty one, seeing things differently and bringing colour and creativity to the world around him. He was softly spoken, choosing his words carefully, but when he spoke, people listened. He was the clumsy one too, giving us plenty of moments to laugh with him and memories that will stay with us forever.
Above all, he was dignified. Through whatever life placed in his path, he carried himself with quiet grace and strength. Right to the very end, he remained the same gentle, thoughtful soul we had always known.
Friendship isn’t measured by who shouts the loudest or takes centre stage. Sometimes it’s the steady presence, the kind heart, the familiar face beside you that leaves the deepest mark. That was him.
Our group will never quite be the same without him. There will always be a space where he should be, a story that reminds us of him, a laugh that echoes back to a memory we shared together.
We were lucky to call him our friend, and we will carry him with us always.
Rest easy, Jamie. You may have been the quietest of us all, but your absence leaves the loudest silence.
