Julia was my grandmother Betty's most deeply treasured lifelong friendship. As I recall, they met as teenagers. After Betty moved away to Canada at around age 20 they devotedly kept in touch over many decades, mostly through cards and letters which they kept up into their 90s. They had a few lovely visits over the years and Betty always had the photographs of Julia displayed in her home. Betty spoke fondly of Julia and often wondered how she was doing. Sending warmth and well wishes from Canada to all those mourning the loss of beautiful Julia.
