Derek was my best friend. A very clever man with the kindest heart and great sense of humour. He had a wonderful family sadly losing his wife too soon. When he retired l went to work for him as his house cleaner. We soon became good friends and always put the world to rights after a cuppa before l started work. He adored his family and they him. After l had been working for him for a few years l asked Derek to give me away at my wedding. He happily accepted and we all had a wonderful day. Derek looked very handsome in his light grey suit.
I worked for Derek for over 25 years and nothing was too much trouble. When l was approaching 20 years l reminded him not to forget my gold clock. He huffed and puffed a bit, then laughed. We laughed a lot together.....
But now sadly he is no more.
I will always love and miss you Derek and never forget you.
Until we meet again.
Be happy with Mavis and Judy.
Love always
Sylvia
