ARTHUR BOULTONwas born on the 13th of November in 1925. His father was Arthur and his mother was Gertrude. He had an older sister Elsie and a younger brother James (Jim). In 1941 his father died and he joined the army. He served in Europe and drove an army transport. He saw many horrific things and all whilst still a teenager. After the war he fell in love with and married Pauline Sylvia Hopewell and they had two children. First Andrew Arthur in 1966 and then Lisa Yvonne in 1970. In the early 70s Arthur and Pauline split up and Arthur brought his two children up alone but with the help of Pauline's mother Bertha and various family members. Throughout the 70s he worked for British steel at Shelton Bar. He then became a delivery driver for Dixons paints. He lost his brother, his sister and then his mother within a few years of each other. He moved from Shelton in 1994 to a bungalow in Adderley Green. In 1995 his first grandson Benjamin Ian was born to his daughter Lisa. Sadly within four months of this happy event he was rushed to hospital with heart problems. He remained in intensive care for over a week bravely fighting to live but he passed away in the loving company of his children on Sunday the 24th of September 1995. He was a beautiful warm loving FUNNY man. He had much sadness in his life but soldiered on regardless and was always positive. He loved going to either the Sneyd Arms or the Norfolk and had many friends. In later years he loved to grow tomatoes and garden. He loved the music of ABBA and would walk around singing to himself many of their tunes. The Bing Crosby song Swingin' On A Star was another memorable favourite. He loved us and we loved him. He was desperate to live and fought till the end. His carers praised his dignity and genuinely cared for this lovely man. He had another grandson three years after his passing called Thomas Arthur. He would of been VERY proud of these two young men. There isn't a day that goes by when you aren't thought of Dad and we all love and miss you very very much.Love you always Pud xXx
