So sorry to hear of the passing of Mary. She used to cycle round to my mum's house and spend time chatting with her over a cuppa and a bit of cake. Her mum and mine were life long friends. She went to the folk festival each year and would look after the family graves in Newmarket road cemetery and histon Rd. She went everywhere by bike and send my brother and I cards and letters, which could be hard to read at times. When I went to her house it was just as her mum and dad left it. She had her dad's walking sticks and rain coat hanging in the hall and a meat safe on the kitchen wall as if time stood still. Rest in peace Mary

I knew and worked with Mary in the 70s and 80s at Jesus College, and we have kept in touch by cards and letters ever since. She was interested in everything and everyone and lived a wonderful life cycling round Cambridge to get to all the events she loved to see - Cambridge United, Ballet in the Big Top, bands at the Corn Exchange and so much more. Her letters was lengthy and full of her adventures, and I enjoyed reading them, even when her eyesight was failing and her writing a bit wobbly!. She was a lovely lady and I will miss hearing from her. RIP Mary.
