Miles was a very good friend of my late brother John Byrne who sadly passed in 2012. Miles made the long journey down to South London to attend his funeral I found this very comforting and also I ofen bumped into him around Scunthorpe and in Weatherspoons. I always enjoyed our chats RIP God rest his soul Michael Byrne 🙏

I first met miles working at malt shovel, he was always a chatty, polite and patience and funny man. One of my favourite to serve. I then moved jobs to the hospital not imagining I would look after him there. So when Miles was introduced to me as John for the first time I did not believe it was his name. Even with everything that was going on with him. he was always polite, respectful and so thankful for everything for everything you did. a genuinely good soul and he will be missed. I hope the family is doing as okay as they can be.

I know Miles from working at the malt shovel. He was always a chatty, funny, polite man. He was always one of my favourite people to serve. I never imagined when I worked at the hospital I would be looking after him. I was shocked to find out his name was John and he just laughed at me. Even with everything that was going on with him, He was always pleasant l, calm and so thankful for everything. A true kind soul. He will be missed and I hope family is as okay as they can be.

Very sad to hear of Miles passing. Miles and I went to Christs college Liverpool together in 1976. We spent our first evening there listening to his Abba album and drinking whiskey. Condolences to all of his family. R.I.P. Miles.

Miles was a great guy who was the same school year as myself at St.bedes, his dad Arthur was also the school caretaker there for years.
It was always great to bump into him in Wetherspoons and also at the evening telegraph quiz league meetings which he was involved with.
He was always pleasant and a very interesting character.
He painted me a badge of David Bowie years ago which I still have.
Rest in peace Miles Scunthorpe will not be the same without you.
