Christine MaryRICKETTSChristine died on 13th November 2025.
She had borne her cancer bravely for several years but in the end passed quite quickly. All of Christine's immediate family were able to spend time with her during the final two days until she passed away gently and peacefully at 7:30pm.
Christine is especially missed by her husband of more than 50 years, Roger, their two children Rebekah and Christopher, and Christopher's wife Julie and their children Caleb and Isaiah. The family's grief is shared by her much loved brothers Brian and Allan, and their wives, Jean and Sue.
Christine was originally from Birmingham and moved to Newhall in South Derbyshire in 1974, where she
built strong friendships particularly in Newhall Junior School and Newhall Methodist Church. Many will remember Christine from her years as the crossing lady on Bretby Road.
Christine's funeral will take place at the Newhall Methodist Church at 11am on 15th December 2025. Following the Chapel service Christine's family will attend Bretby Crematorium for a farewell service.
Afterwards all are welcome to join the family back at the chapel rooms for refreshments and to share their
memories of Christine. It is requested family flowers only, with donations in lieu, which will be shared between Pancreatic Cancer UK and the Salvation Army, with which Christine had been associated since childhood.
