What a woman! Jo you were so full of life, always smiling, always travelling and always there for your family and friends. You were so courageous and determined to not let this illness define you. You fought a tremendous battle and we are all so proud of you - our mighty warrior! We will never forget you and you will always be with us on our girlie trips.

I have always dreaded the day Joanne would no longer be with us. I just wanted to believe it would never actually happen. I thought of Joanne as not just a cousin but more of a younger sister and also a best friend. I have known Joanne her entire life and would often stay with her growing up. We had the best laughs and times together and were always very close. I remember many years back, Joanne taking me to this nightclub called the Place, I was very impressed with the three different floors. She showed me how much better nightlife was in a bigger city than the North East town I lived in. Even though I live in California, I have always looked forward to my visits with Joanne in the UK. She also came to visit me once when my children were very young. I will miss you Joanne, more than you could ever imagine. My bond with you was always very special, and my heart feels like it’s shattered into a million pieces. I will never forget you and have loved every moment we have shared together, I will love you always and forever. Your cousin Susan McCormack x
