VeraLORDMrs Vera Lord, of Gladstone Street, Bacup died peacefully at home on Sunday, December 5, aged 92. A service will be held at the Chapel of Rest on Thursday, December 16 at 9.20am followed by cremation at Burnley at 10am, conducted by Mr David Ireland. Born in Whitworth, she moved to Bacup after her marriage to Harold. Vera worked at Ross Mill and John Maden & Son in Bacup where she was employed as a passer for many years. She enjoyed holidays abroad, gardening, watching TV, painting and reading the newspaper. She leaves daughter Susan and her husband Steve, daughter Sandra, nephew Brent and his wife Marilyn and many friends. A special thanks to Pip and Vicky who cared for her in her final days.
