Dearly loved Husband of Maureen, loving Dad of David, Paul and Mark, also a much loved Grandad of Ami and Millie.

Funeral service to be held at St Hilda's Chapel, Teesside Crematorium on Monday July 7th at 2:30pm prior to cremation.

Friends please meet at St Hilda's chapel.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if desired to The Stroke Association, retiring collection at the chapel.

Maybe the best teacher I ever had, a wise and funny guy who rarely lost his temper.
He was also the father of my school friend, and even in life outside of school he was a genuinely nice guy.
Nobody who ever knew him could forget him. Rest in peace, Mr L.

Mr Lavan was my English teacher (I was also a librarian) as I come up to retirement as a teacher myself of 30 years, I know how much skill and patience was needed to work with kids like me. Thankyou. Definitely one who inspired to become a teacher.
