Katherine AdeleJENKINSKathy Suddenly and peacefully, Kathy lost her ongoing battle with her long term illness at her home in The Uplands, Swansea on September 18th 2019. She was 59 years old and throughout, she had borne her illness with great courage, dignity and hope, and she never complained. She was the dearly loved daughter of Terry and the late Marian of Pen-yr-Heol Drive Sketty and the loving sister of Carolyn and the late Lorraine. Kathy was the proud and loving aunt of Elena and Laurence and while she lived in London she would often meet them. Her long term sculptor friend Mark supported her throughout her illness and continued to do so when Kathy returned to Swansea. On her return to Swansea she quickly and easily resumed the friendships of her cousins Mandy, Tracey, Michelle and Sarah, along with her aunts and uncles. Kind and funny, her humour often emerged in the artistic characters she had created and she loved cats! Of a quiet and gentle nature, Kathy will fondly be remembered by all who knew her. She was always considerate, showing kindness and understanding. A close friend described her as a "sweet and sensitive soul." Katherine was always polite and well mannered. As they say "Manners Maketh Man" but they also "Maketh Woman" and in Katherine's case they did. Katherine spent most of her working life in London, in the artistic community and often did charity work there. All those who knew her will feel her absence intensely. Even the longest night ends in dawn and while nothing has changed, everything has! The funeral will leave from Pen-yr-Heol Drive Sketty (the home of her father Terry) on Saturday October 26th and the service will be held at Swansea Crematorium at 11am. Flowers or donations as you wish . Donations may be made to Ty Olwen, c/o D.G. Attwell Funeral Directors 95 Eaton Road, Brynhyfryd, Swansea SA5 9JH. Terry and Carolyn wish to invite all relatives and friends to join them for refreshments at the King's Head, Treboeth, Swansea after the service.

I was a friend of Kathy for many years and sadly I lost touch with her a few years ago. I have just searched again online and found this notice. She was a lovely person and great friend who was always caring and supportive. I am really sad to hear about her death. My thoughts are with her family. Madeleine King (Surrey)
